China eves shock Germany

Sydney, September 20: Newcomers China continued their giant-killing feats in the Olympic women8217;s hockey on Wednesday with a 2-1 win over Germany that made them unexpected leaders in Group B.

In the same Group, the Netherlands held off a spirited challenge from New Zealand to score a rousing 4-3 victory and throw open the race for the three spots in the medal pool round.

China, with six points from three matches, are followed by the Dutch, Germany and New Zealand on four points each.
