PIO card scheme soon: PM
The Government has taken another important step to attract investment from Indian industrialists and professionals settled abroad. The Government would soon issue People of Indian Origin PIO cards which will entitle them to special economic and visa facilities. Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee announced this today at the Global Indian Entrepreneurs Conference in New Delhi.
Stone-laying of refinery today
Punjab8217;s pending inter-state disputes, including sharing of river waters, merger of Punjabi speaking areas of neighbouring Haryana into the state and transfer of Chandigarh to it, are likely to take a back seat during Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee8217;s much touted quot;historicquot; visit to Bathinda tomorrow. The PM will lay the foundation stone of a Rs 16,000 crore oil refinery project, at Fulokhari in the district.
