Build a case, then ask for JPC: PM
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today said he was ready for a Joint Parliamentary Committee JPC probe into the charges of irregularities levelled by the sacked Navy Chief, Vishnu Bhagwat, if the Opposition came out with concrete proof. But the Opposition was yet to substantiate the allegations, he said. 8220;If the Opposition honestly wants a probe into the whole case, they must build a case for this,8221; he said.
Bombers target ground forces
The Balkan conflict snowballed on Sunday as NATO bombers and missiles began targeting Serbian ground forces in response to the downing of a US F-117 Stealth bomber. Yugoslavia in turn is reported to have begun using its airforce against Kosovo insurgents, forcing an escalated response from NATO. As the Yugoslavs hunkered down for a fifth day of bombing, the question on everyone8217;s mind was when NATO would begin sending in grounds troops to the region.
