NEW DELHI, OCT 10: The Centre has finally received from the Maharashtra government the documents relating to underworld don Chhota Rajan's extradition from Thailand.Sources said the documents were sent directly to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) yesterday by the Maharashtra government. With this, the MEA can start the proceedings for the gangster's extradition to India. The Centre, the sources pointed out, has already asked Interpol to issue red-corner notices for the arrest of criminals like Rajan and his arch-rival, Dawood Ibrahim. The sources insisted that the Centre was not deliberately going slow on Rajan's extradition. ``Both the Centre and the Maharashtra government are very keen to get all underworld criminals, including Rajan and Ibrahim, extradited to India before initiating legal action against them,'' they said.India has requested Thai authorities to allow the Indian team to interrogate not only Rajan but all others they had arrested in connection with the shootout in which the underworld don was injured on September 15, the sources added.Asked if the Maharashtra government had bypassed the Union Home Ministry by referring the extradition papers to the MEA, they said there was ``perfect cooperation and coordination'' among the Union ministries and the state government.
