MUMBAI, July 24: Goalkeeper U M Salim8217;s great work for Centaur helped them a long way to earn one point in the Harwood League clash against Oil amp; Natural Gas Commission ONGC at St. Xavier8217;s ground, Parel today.
Salim saved two point-blank saves and otherwise gave a confident display as Centaur scored a late goal to share two points and two goals. That ensured Centaur their first point in two games while ONGC, who have four points from a win and a draw, maintained their clean record.
Anthony incidentally scored ONGC8217;s goal, in 12th minute which was reduced by Ramnarayan Nair8217;s 78th-minute equaliser.
Earlier, in the Division II League, Bombay Republicans defeated P D Hinduja 3-0. Sujit Kumar, Ashton D8217;Souza and Shayne D8217;Costa scored the goals.
Elbert excels
Elbert D8217;Silva scored two goals as St Dominic Savio Andheri beat St Xavier8217;s Fort 3-0 in the Inter-Schools football tournament at the Xaverian Ground Parel, today. Plejo Chacko scored the other goal in the under-16 IA match.
