A recent audit report has kicked up an interesting 8220;financial impropriety8221; involving a senior Indian Air Force officer. The report says that the commander of an airbase struck a deal with a prominent telecom operator to provide 22 of his officers free mobile phones and connections in return for permission to erect a booster antenna within the base. The report asks for a probe against the officer and the 8220;goodwill gesture8221; of the company for providing the connections.
