CBI questions Jagir’s daughter’s husband’

NEW DELHI, OCT 6: The CBI today recorded the statement of Kamaljit Singh, who claims to be the husband of Harpreet Kaur, the teenaged daughter of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) chief Jagir Kaur who died under mysterious circumstances recently.

The investigating officers of the Special Crime Branch questioned Singh for nearly two hours and also asked him to identify the five persons arrested by the agency yesterday in the case from Punjab and Delhi.

Emerging out of the CBI office, Singh said he was happy that the momentum of the case had picked up and expressed hope that Bibi Jagir kaur would be arrested soon. Singh also alleged that the five persons arrested by the CBI were closely related to Jagir Kaur.

He also charged that the younger sister of Harpreet was not allowed to meet anyone and hoped that the agency would rescue her from “the illegal confinement”.
