
Chandigarh, May 19: Scores of students taking the Master of Finance and Control MFC Part II paper on International Finance today walked out of the examination centres. later, they assembled outside the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor8217;s office saying that the question paper was not set according to the pattern prescribed by the university. They demanded that the paper be held again. They said as per the syllabus, the paper should have had five sections with the choice of attempting one question of 16 marks each from every section.
However, the paper had only three sections, and some of the questions were also out of syllabus. A delegation of students met the university authorities and demanded that today8217;s paper he cancelled. The Controller of Examinations, Dr Sodhi Ram, said in the evening that no decision had been taken yet since the students have made no representation.
Dr R.P. Gupta, MFC course coorinator, also stated that while he had received a lot of complaints over the phone, he had not received any in writing. according to him, another section of students, who did not walk out, want that the examination should not be cancelled but due compensation be made for the out of pattern paper. Sources said that last year too, students of the MFC Part II had walked out of the International Finance paper.
