The inaugural Indian Cricket League will see Chennai Superstars and Chandigarh Lions fight for the title as the Lions today stormed into the final, beating Delhi Jets by four wickets. The final will be played tomorrow.

Instrumental in their victory were skipper Chris Cairns and Andrew Hall. The Chennai team had reached the final earlier defeating Kolkata Tigers.

With the Delhi Jets setting them a target of 149, the Lions made a thrilling finish to snatch victory in the final over. Hall hit a boundary to score the winning runs.

Hall’s knock of 20 not out came off just 11 balls while Cairns scored an unbeaten 26 off 18 balls. With 48 needed off 32 balls, the duo scored 48 runs in just 24 balls.

The Jets, led by Marvan Atapattu, will rue the fact that they gave away 20 extras.

Earlier, the Jets, riding on Syed Abbas Ali’s quick-fire 57 (40b, 4×6) and Sudhindra’s 22-ball 33, scored 148 for four wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Heroes win

Former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq hit a 67 to enable Hyderabad Heroes to beat Mumbai Champs by 25 runs and take the fifth position here today. Chasing 180, the Champs could manage only 154, losing six wickets.
