CAFVD triumph 3-0

In the 41st minute Shailendra Kamble made it 2-0 with a close range attempt taking advantage of the crowd in front of the goal. Four minutes later Deepak Lagad scored the third with a right left combination near the goalmouth. To make matters worse for Poona Social Sandeep Kadam’s attempt off a penalty shot hit the goal upright only to be thwarted away. CAFVD’s keeper Mudliar was shown the yellow card for kicking a rival player earlier during the proceedings.

Poona Social ended their league campaign with five points to their credit, finishing sixth towards the bottom of the pool. CAFVD are a point ahead and one more fixture to go, but they too have nothing to cheer about.

At the Pune University ground Phoenix B and Friends XI split a point each with a drawn outcome in a pool E third division match, this being the last league outing for both teams. Friends XI with four points finished a poor fifth while Phoenix B with eight points finished just a place above them.

With the pool E matches completed Thundercatz B have garnered sixteen points to top the pool and have qualified for the super leagues. Shivajians, Daund scored a solitary goal against Sky Hawks to secure three points in pool D. Lalit Sonawane was the goal-getter in the 40th minute.
