MUMBAI, December 12: The Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) has offered to construct a hospital for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at Andheri (W) at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore.

According to BMC health committee chairman Dr Ram Barot, the BSES will construct the six-storeyed hospital over an area of 30,000 sq ft now occupied by the maternity home Fatehchand Khilani which was closed two years ago. However, the power company has put three demands – naming the hospital as "BSES Municipal hospital," representation of at least two BSES members in the local committee and a 10 pc reservation of beds for BSES patients.

Barot said a memorandum of understanding has also been prepared and only the standing committee’s approval is awaited.
