I expect a good competitive series. Expectations in India are high after the Australian series. Something tells me that the series will be drawn. Even though we have a strong batting line-up, I don’t think we quite have the bowling to dismiss them twice. I don’t think Pakistan can bowl us out twice too. People talk about Shoaib Akhtar, but it is unfair to single out one player. On paper we look stronger. I hope the slight edge we have should push the boys
Erapalli Prasanna, Indian off-spin legend
You cannot ask for a better and more keenly fought contest than this. This is what the whole cricketing world is waiting to watch with bated breath. Its great for cricket that they are back to playing against each other. My only advice to Indians is: ’go out there and enjoy, don’t be wary of playing there. You won’t be able to concentrate on the job on hand.’ India needs to get the bowling in order and get their top spinners fit and in action as soon as possible
Graham Gooch, former England captain
It will be a great series. I can’t predict who will win the series. Frankly, Indians will have a good time. This assessment comes from my time as a player and then as coach of England ’A’ in Pakistan
John Emburey, former England off-spinner
India seems to be the better side. I feel we do not have the attack to bowl them out twice, so I do not think winning there is a possibility
Dilip Sardesai, former Test batsman
I am sure India will win the series. The players are a bit wary of playing there. But I am sure once they land in Pakistan they will give their best. Indian and Pakistani spin attacks are evenly matched. The hosts though have an edge over us in the pace bowling department
