
MUMBAI, December 26: An unbeaten last-wicket partnership between Gaurav Majli (19) and Ankit Gala (21) of the Bombay Scottish school helped their team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Scholar High School. Bombay Scottish have earned a place in final of Learner Academy cricket tournament sponsored by Thums Up.
Earlier, Scholar school batted first and scored 153 runs with the help good knocks by Rahul, who scored 48 and Imran contributed 36. When Scottish batted, Ankesh scalped six wickets for 50 run for the losers. Ankit Gala took two for 26 runs.
In the second semi-final, a scintillating unbroken partnership between Varun Katoch (87) and Amit Kothari (51) gave St Peter’s School, Mazagoan an easy win over Arya Vidya Mandir, Bandra.
Earlier, Amit Kothari restricted to 137 by taking five wickets for 13 runs. For the AVM, Bandra captain Sohrab Khushrushini played a fighting knock of 64. The captain was helped by Hitesh Sharma who scored a knock of 25. St Peter scored the required target by just losing one wicket.
On Sunday, St Peter will take on the Bombay Scottish School in the finals.
