Top 10 countries with the most millionaires in 2025: Global wealth, following a decline in 2022, exhibited a resurgence in 2024, buoyed by a strong performance throughout 2023.

According to the UBS Global Wealth Report 2025, approximately 680,000 new millionaires in the United States Dollar (USD) were created in 2024, representing a modest overall increase of 1.2 per cent.

Further, the report projects that by 2029, an estimated 5.34 million additional individuals will attain millionaire status, reflecting an almost 9 per cent rise compared to 2024.

North America hosts 40% of them, followed by Western Europe with just over 25%. Greater China and Southeast Asia each account for about 10%, while Oceania trails behind.

Meanwhile, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East & Africa each represent roughly 1.5% of the total.

The United States remains the leading country in terms of the number of millionaires, with nearly 24 million individuals holding this status.

Accounting for 39.7 per cent of the global total, the US surpassed the combined total of millionaires from mainland China, which follows at No. 2, and the countries that follow in the list: France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Japan, and Australia.

South Korea rounds out the top ten with about 1.3 million millionaires, and Switzerland is the final entry with over a million millionaires.

Where does India rank globally?

India, with a 3.4 per cent share of global personal wealth, ranks 14th with 917 millionaires, according to the report.
