After plastering nearly the entire city with its anti-Congress slogans, the BJP is changing gears and will now put out specific slogans for key problems on which it plans to attack the ruling party.
The BJP is also planning on keep a majority of the slogans in Hindi. For English readers, these will be written in the Roman script.
In the next couple of days, the BRT corridor will have new hoardings proclaiming: 8220;Mehngi padi BRT, mehengi padi Congress8221;. At traffic intersections, the slogan will read: 8220;Rengta traffic, mehngi padi Congress8221;. In colonies with drinking water scarcity, hoardings will be put up at strategic locations, such as community tubewells or places where water tankers usually stand. Here, the slogan will read: 8220;Pyasi Dilli, mehengi padi Congress8221;.
To target fast running meters and mounting electricity bills, the BJP already has a vehicle designed in the shape of an electric meter on the roads, carrying the slogan: 8220;Bhagta meter, mehengi padi Congress8221;.
8220;We are planning to replace our English slogan, 8216;Congress at What Cost8217;, with our Hindi slogan, written in the Roman script, which is more effective and has struck the right chord with the public,8221; BJP leader Arun Jaitley said.
Although, the BJP has been advertising in bulk, it claims that all of it is accounted for and is completely within the budget allowed by the Election Commission.
8220;This is the first election in which all bills have been paid for by cheque. The money that was initially spent on posters is now being spent on advertising, so the costs have not exceeded the permissible amount,8221; Jaitley said.
