Jagdish Chander top
Jagdish Chander bagged the Sterling Travels Trophy, the symbol of supremacy in the Willingdon Sports Club golf tournament, yesterday. In addition, he was also the lucky winner of a ticket to London.
In the women’s section, Sonal Singh bagged the overall trophy, Ute Thiemann was the runner-up and the closest-to-the-pin award was claimed by Rani Maheshwari.
Anish Kanchan ‘tricks
Union Bank of India trounced GM Breweries 5-1, after the two were level 1-1 at half-time, in the 19th Bro Paulus football tournament at the St Francis D’Assisi High School ground, Borivli, today.
The hero of the game was UBI’s Anish Kanchan who scored his second hat-trick of the competition. Senthil Raj and Ryan D’Souza were the other scorers for the bankmen. S Lobo had equalised for Breweries.
Earlier, D’Assisi Ex-Students Charitable Association beat HolyFamily (Andheri) 3-1 after leading 2-0 at the breather. Agnel Picardo, Avinash Puthran (2) netted for the winners. Anand Sutar reduced the margin.
