CHANDIGARH, May 17: Arun Tuli8217;s deadly spell 5 for 12 backed up by Girish Bhanot8217;s all round performance 3 for 22 and 23 helped Godrej Club humble Gymkhana Club by four wickets in a league match of the Quadrangular Cup for the P R Munjal Memorial trophy at PGI here today. PGI XI beat DYFI XI by 28 runs in another match.

Gymkhana Club were bundled out for 127 as Tuli and Bhanot bowled well in tandem. Had Vikram Sharma 41 and Kamal Walia 32 not countered them with confidence, Gymkhana Club would have been in further trouble.

Godrej XI were off to a quick start as Vineet Jain and Vaneet Chawla scored 27 apiece. However, a couple of quick wickets meant Godrej Club had to look to the dependable Aman Kumar and Bhanot to steer them through.

Rajinder Singh8217;s fine knock 52 helped PGI XI to a comfortable win over DYFI XI. PGI XI scored 192 for 9 while DYFI XI were all out for 164. Ravi was the top scorer for them.

Sandeep shines
A fine half century 75 by Sandeep Sonu enabled Tari XI beat Punjab Civil Secretariat by 118 runs in the Third Shine Star Cup cash prize cricket tournament at Government School, Sector 27 on Sunday.

In another match LIC XI scored 6-wicket win over Kalsi XI.
