The heir of the erstwhile Deara estate today claimed his family owns the 67-acre acquired land at the disputed site in Ayodhya and wanted it back.

Shivendra Pratap Shahi claimed the 600 acres in Faizabad and Ayodhya belonged to the Raj Rajeshwar Shri Sitaram Trust of his grandfather Raja Rudra Pratap Shahi. He is filing a demarcation suit in Faizabad SDM8217;s court.

On the delay in making the claims, he said: 8220;The papers were in Persian and it took time to get them translated in English.8221;
