CHANDIGARH, SEPT 15: Week long awareness camps organised by Shramik Vidyapeeth to mark International Literacy Day concluded today. The camps were held in collaboration with AIDS Control Cell, Health Department, Regional Resource Centre, PU, at Mauli Jagran Colony, Sector 39, Maloya Colony, Manimajra, Sector 46 and Colony Number 4. As many as 256 people participated inthe camps which dealt with girl8217;s education, open school learning, self-employment projects and AIDS and its preventive measures. The organisers donated Rs 3,100 for the Kargil martyrs.

On the concluding day, two minutes silence was observed to pay respectful homage to the warriors who laid down their lives for the sake of country. An amount of Rs 31,00, collected from the staff and students of Shramik Vidyapeeth, was also donated to help the families of martyrs.
