
PUNE, Jan 2: Renowned social worker and secretary of Padvidhar Mitra Mandal, Pune, Anwar Shaikh has been selected for the prestigious National Youth Award’ by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for his outstanding contribution to youth welfare programmes. The award will be presented to him at Chennai on January 12.
Shaikh is a lecturer in the Department of Commerce at Poona College and is working as NSS programme officer. For his contribution in educational and social fields he has already received many awards which include Gen Arun Kumar Vaidya Award, Rajiv Gandhi Gaurav Puraskar, Shiv Chhatrapati Yuva Gaurav Puraskar and Swami Vivekanand Yuva Gaurav Puraskar.
