CHENNAI, July 5: Almost 13,000 auto rickshaws have been tested by the Transport department for bogus permits and other illegal documents during the past 20-25 days. Criminal action has been taken against violators with false licences and vehicles have been impounded in case of absence of permits. Following this operation, the department officials plan to take up inspection of auto meters shortly.
