Australian terror laws were put under the scanner as speakers at rallies supporting Indian doctor Mohd Haneef sought their review and demanded the resignation of Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews.

Australian terror laws should be reviewed to avoid a recurrence of Dr Haneef8217;s unreasonable denial of liberty, speakers at rallies in Sydney and Melbourne said.

Addressing a rally here in support of recently released former terror suspect Dr Haneef, Victorian Green Party Senate candidate Richard Di Natale said current legislation was a real cause for

concern. 8220;There8217;s no doubt the minister bungled this case,8221; Di Natale said, according to media reports here. 8220;But all of the things that have happened have been allowable under the current legislation and that8217;s the real worrying thing,8221; Di Natale said. At a Sydney rally, speakers called for Andrews8217; resignation.
