Railways struggle

NEW DELHI: Railways have not had a decent start to their batting in all their previous three Ranji Trophy Group B Super League matches. It was no different against Delhi at the Ferozeshah Kotla here today.

Within 23 overs after electing to bat, their top four batsmen were back in the pavilion for a meagre 37 runs. Medium-pacer Amit Bhandari accounted for three of them while the other went to Robin Singh. But some resolute batting by Vishal Sharma (69: 241m, 11×4) and Devender Singh (64: 168m, 7×4, 1×6) and their 123-run stand for the fifth wicket raised visions of a revival in the afternoon session before both perished one after the other.
