All of a sudden on the 15th tee, the crowd swelled. Ali Sher had finished with Lam Chih Bing surprisingly fast for third place in the SRF Matchplay, and with Shamim Khan and Arjun Singh duelling right behind, the two galleries merged. Unfortunately for Khan, the title-match effectively ended there too.

Singh, one-up from the first 18, had quickly extended that to four-up by the sixth in the second half of the 36-hole match.

He was hitting perfectly, draining all the putts, and Khan looked shakier by the shot. Then Khan whipped up the last of his challenge to prune the gap back to one. The six-footer on the 15th would8217;ve levelled it. A whisker8217;s miss and the chance was gone. Singh won two-up for his first title in more than three years.
