HRD Minister Arjun Singh said on Monday he was ready to hold talks with the students protesting against the proposed reservations for OBCs in elite educational institutions, if they are willing to come forward for discussions. “I have invited them for talks, but they are not ready. How can I talk to them if they are not willing to.”
• The Health Ministry got ready to crack the whip at striking doctors on Monday, after work in all major hospitals, including private ones, were paralysed for the fourth consecutive day. The ministry has called the leave of all doctors and paramedics. It will deploy about 120 doctors from the Central Government Health Services.
