MUMBAI, MAY 5: Parag Madkaikar, who shone with his all-round display, was at it once again as National CC entered the semi-finals with a 110 run victory over Khandala CC in the quarter-finals of the Santosh Kumar Ghosh Memorial under-14 cricket tournament here today. The tournament is being sponsored by Kalyandas Memorial Sports Foundation, Fathesingrao Gaekwad Sports Foundation, JN Guzdar Foundation, LIC, GIC, Union Bank, Tata Finance and Bank of Baroda.

Madkaikar scored 76 runs with 12 boundaries as National CC scored 208 for nine in their 45 overs. He then took four wickets for 20 runs with his leg-spin as Khandala were bowled out for just 98.

New Amrut made it to the semi-finals despite losing by 46 runs to Kshatriya CC.

Aarey CC and Esplanade Liberals are the other two teams which won through to the semi-finals.

MB Union 60 in 27.3 overs (Amulya Kamerkar 4-12, Ameya Waingankar 3-16, Vikrant Gupta 2-9) lost to Aarey CC 62-2 in 8.3 overs (Neil Sawant 25, Tushak Tiwari 22 n.o.).

Sassanians 129-8 in 45 overs (Dinar Gaokar 36; Sudanshu Mishra 2-22, Sanket Bhaye 2-28) lost to Esplanade Liberals 131-3 in 35 overs (Gaurav Shukla 37, Vijay Chavan 31).

Kshatriya CC 141 in 29.4 overs (Shivjit Gupta 23, Samir Chavan 21; Gauresh Patel 3-30, Karan Joshi 2-6, Durgesh Shahpurkar 2-2) vs New Amrut 95 in 21.2 overs (Sameer Chavan 3-5, Ninit Churi 2-17).
