Chand Khan, who confessed to his involvement in the Akshardham attack, was on Saturday produced in the Special POTA Court here and remanded to 18 days in police custody. Five other accused have too been sent to custody till Thursday.

However, the city police’s Detection of Crime Branch, investigating the main conspirators behind the attack, is pursuing the lead that the conspiracy was hatched in Riyadh. Special Public Prosecutor H M Dhruv said investigations have revealed that one of the accused, Adam Ajmeri’s brother is a resident of Riyadh who allegedly directed him to get in touch with people in India. He said police had the passports of two other accused which showed they had visited Saudi Arabia just before the attack.
