Following Black Monday it’s mobile operators now the victim of Mumbai Police’s ire. After the police pulled up the news channels for exaggerated coverage they are irked with the operators for the breakdown in services for two hours following the blasts. Rumours of police ordering cell services to be stopped made the rounds.
Joint Commissioner (law and order) Ahmad Javed today called a meeting of heads of mobile operators to explain the reasons for the network failure.
‘‘That day, even investigating agencies, senior officers and bureaucrats were unable to coordinate with each other or stop rumours from spreading,’’ Javed said.
