The Athletics Federation of India (AFI), at its annual general meeting here today, suspended the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for three months for allowing athletes facing doping charges to participate in the all-India competition recently. This was announced by AFI secretary Lalit Bhanot.
The AFI has also decided that a three-member panel will probe the issue. “It’s a serious matter that athletes facing doping violation were allowed to participate in the competition,” added Bhanot.
