Adoption awareness week from Nov 14

VADODARA, Nov 12: Adoption Resource Centre, a branch of the Mumbai-based Indian Association for Promotion of Adoption IAPA, located in the Faculty of Social Work of the MSU, is celebrating Adoption Awareness Week8217; from November 14 to 20. It will be inaugurated by Dean of Management Studies Mayank Dholakia at 5 pm on November 14.

More than 200 people, including parents planning to adopt children, students and staff members of the Faculty of Social Work will attend the programme. Problems faced by parents in bringing up adopted children will be discussed during the programme.

A souvenir on Child Guidance Clinic8217; brought out by IAPA will also be released on the occasion.

Other programmes aimed at promoting awareness about adoption include poster competition on the theme of adoption by Art Faculty students, a debate on Institutionalised v/s deinstitutionalised care of children as alternatives8217; for better child care and a puppet show by Adult Education Centre in rural as well as urban areas.

Faculty students will also organise folk and street plays, puppet show and poster exhibition. The SSG Hospital will organise a day8217;s poster exhibition.
