MUMBAI, OCT 17: Adhantar, a recent popular Marathi play, bagged the first prize of Rs 60,000 in the 10th Commercial Plays Competition conducted by the Maharashtra Government.

Cultural Affairs Minister Pramod Navalkar announced results of the prestigious competition at Mantralaya this afternoon. Producers of Adhantar, Shree Chitra-Chitralekha, and other winners in the competition will be conferred the award soon. The second prize of Rs 40,000 has gone to Sakhkhe Shejari and the third prize of Rs 20,000 has been awarded to Ashee Bayko Havi.

Famous director Vaman Kendre has been selected Best Director for Ashee Bayko Havi while the second and third prizes have gone to Arun Bhutnath and Mangesh Kadam respectively for Sakhkhe Shejari and Adhantar.

The Best Playwright award has been given to Sai Paranjape for Sakhkhe Shejari while Jayant Pawar and Premanand Gajwi have won the second and third prizes for Adhantar and Gandhi-Ambedkarrespectively.
