ACB arrests three on corruption charges in separate operations

In three separate operations, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Gujarat, on Thursday arrested three persons, including a police officer, on charges of corruption in Rajkot.

The accused have been identified as Siddique Sathar, an Assistant Sub Inspector with Rajkot police, Rasikbhai Kanjibhaim, Circle Officer of Mamludar office in Surendranagar and Ajit Rathod, Talati of village Ranpur in rural Ahmedabad.

They were arrested in three different operations laid by the ACB on Thursday.

Sathar was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,500 from one Jeevabhai Godhania.

Rashikbhai and Rathod were nabbed while they were accepting Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,100 respectively from one Raghubha Parmar and Babu Okhadia, the ACB said.

The arrests were made following complaints filed against the three accused.

Police traps were laid using the complainants in the three respective cases, Godhania, Parmar and Okhadia as decoys.

“The trio has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) and the investigations are on,” an ACB officer said.
