The A1 Grand Prix is upgrading to Ferrari standards. In a long-term partnership deal signed, there will be engines from the premier Formula One car maker as well as consultation for chassis for a new car for the fourth season (2008-09), as well as newer specs for the fifth season A2GP.

A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira announced the Ferrari-A1GP World Cup of Motorsport six-year deal from next year. The licence will include merchandising as well, named ‘Powered by Ferrari’, according to information received here.

The raced cars too will upgrade to the A2GP series, and the testing of this will begin in 2009. They too will have Ferrari tech specs.
