As the Taj Mahal Hotel reopens in Mumbai, there are many willing to step up and show solidarity. Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega is one of them and would, perhaps, be among the first foreign dignitaries to stay at the Taj when she visits Mumbai in the next couple of weeks. While her plans are still being firmed up, it8217;s learnt that she has specially asked the embassy here to book her at the Taj during the Mumbai leg of her visit, regardless of any security advice. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is another foreign dignitary who is said to have been 8220;personally distressed8221; after the attacks as she had taken a liking to the hotel when she stayed there during her visit last November.
