Four children were rescued today by police from inside a 30-foot-deep tunnel in a house at Bakrata village in Bihar’s Begusarai district where they were kept confined for five months.
SP Rajesh Chandra said the children, all below eight years, were abducted from Bakrata under Sahebpur Kamal police station on October 5 last year.Police raided the house after a tip-off.
It was a miracle that the children survived in such suffocating conditions, the SP said, adding that enmity was the possible reason behind the act.
The children, meanwhile, have been sent to hospital and their condition was stated to be okay, Chandra said. Three persons have been chargsheeted in connection with the kidnapping.
