
Twenty more cases were added to the total tally of the confirmed cases of dengue in the district so far this season, taking the total number of dengue patients to 49, said health department report today.
District Health Officer, Dr S.S. Dhir said that the number of cases increased suddenly as pending reports of some cases were received today. He however added there was no need to panic. 8220;There is nothing to fear but the residents should take care to avoid mosquito bites,8221; he said.
Different hospitals in the city are also registering an increase in the number of suspected cases of the disease. The total number of suspected cases registered from different hospitals so far has also crossed 200 mark.
Meanwhile All Indian Congress Committee Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Sangathan today expressed concern over the rising number of cases of dengue in the city. A statement issued by the Sangathan said that it was an alarming situation and therefore the health department should not indulge in suppressing the number of the patients afflicted with the disease.
