
About 150 students were awarded degrees in various disciplines of engineering, MCA and MBA during the second convocation of Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Engineering and Technology held in the college campus on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor of Kurukshetra University Dr RP Bajpai was the chief guest, while the DC of Panchkula Rajender Kataria was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr RP Bajpai, a senior scientist and researcher said, 8220;The students should work hard to match up with changing technology. One of the best ways to deal with recession is that the youngsters should try and adopt innovative technologies in the area of biological materials. With this, the new products will come into being and number of jobs shall increase and hence the recession will be minimised.8221;
Rajender Kataria gave away the cash prizes and medals to the toppers and reminded the students about the value of hard work in achieving their desired goals.
8220;It is a matter of pride that about 30 per cent scientists working in USA are from India. Graduates in engineering are the real force of the nation. They can make the country prosperous by contributing in the development of new technologies and new concepts,8221; said Kataria.
Chairman of Swami Devi Dyal Group of Professional Colleges Roshan Lal Jindal was also present at the event.
Director General-cum-Advisor Dr YC Chopra read out the annual report of the college while the vote of thanks was given by the Vice-Chairman of the institute, Moti Lal Jindal.
