Mumbai confidential: New IAS joinee throws a tantrum

A newly joined IAS officer, after completing her probation period, did not join the assignment and reports were sent to Chief Secretary’s office over the new official not joining her duty as assigned by the administration. One of the top-most bureaucrats in Maharashtra called her, in good faith, to explain about the need to follow orders. That senior most bureaucrat in Maharashtra was shocked to hear from the new recruit that she was expecting an order on a different position as she had used her political connections.

Politician roughed up by ‘boys’

‘Boys’ owing allegiance to a dreaded criminal from yesteryears reportedly roughed up a politician from a ruling side last week. Inside the ‘stoned walls’ of don’s empire, where the politician frequents, he got into an argument with local ‘boys.’ The aura of being from the ruling side didn’t matter inside the ‘den,’ and the politician from Byculla had to retreat with a few slaps on his cheek.

Calls again for Ajit Pawar as CM

Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar share birthday on same date, July 22. Fadnavis had strictly warned his followers against putting up posters or celebrations, thus keeping it low key. Whereas, Ajit Pawar followers were difficult to rein in. Not surprisingly, some enthusiasts put up posters of Ajit Pawar as the next CM in several places across the state. But one particular poster which caught the attention of many was in Nagpur, which also happens to be the home town of Fadnavis. Understandably, friends of Fadnavis within BJP were not very pleased.
