She cleanses her face and then proceeds to dunk her face in ice. On being asked why she likes doing the same, the 30-year-old laughingly said, “I usually wake up sort of puffy in the morning. The icing really helps take away that puffiness. It keeps your skin really lovely and tight.”

Alia revealed that she dips her face into the ice bowl twice before she feels “pink and fresh, and ready to take on the day.” She completes her skincare regimen with moisturiser and sunscreen,

The actor disclosed that she’s not keen on foundations and would rather stick to skin tint as the base of her makeup looks. She tends to use a CC cream and serum over her primer for her base, Alia revealed.

The actor further said that she keeps it light on the contouring department, preferring to “have fun” with it. “I don’t think [contouring] is as specific and technical for me,” she said, while contouring her face, followed up by darkening her brows and lashes.

“My go-to colour palette is always pinks and light browns,” Alia said, noting that she loved going all out on the blush, which is what she had told her makeup artist Puneet B Saini, on the night of The Met Gala too. “My major instruction: Make me look like a ball of blush. Just go for the blush,” Alia recalled.

Mostly, she keeps her beauty routine fuss-free; ending with a pink nude lipstick, the one she even wore on her wedding day. Except it’s her lipstick-applying technique, which puts the viewers in shock.

“The way I apply my lipstick is not considered [normal]. It’s a bit weird,” said Alia. Then, she went on to show viewers how she does it – Alia takes the lipstick and moves her mouth across it to apply colour to her lips. Then, she rubs it off for a muted colour to her lips. The reason she does this is because she thinks applying it the regular way is “tedious”.

Alia added that she rubs her lipstick off because her then-boyfriend, now husband, Ranbir Kapoor, would tell her to steer clear of it. “‘Wipe that [lipstick] off. Wipe that off,’ he’d say. Because he loves the natural colour of my lip.”
