Hindi Diwas 2023 Wishes: Every year Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14. It marks the day when the Hindi language was adopted as one of the official languages of the Republic of India in 1949.

Under Article 343 of the Indian Constitution, Hindi, written in the Devanagari script, was adopted as one of the 22 scheduled languages of the Republic of India.

Two years following Independence in 1947, the newly formed administration was reeling under the pressure to bring together the multiple linguistic, cultural and religious groups of the nation. The unification of the country had to be done along with giving it a unique national flavour. In a country that did not have any one language giving it a unique national identity, Hindi provided itself as the solution for unification.

Beohar Rajendra Simha along with Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupt and Seth Govind Das are some of the people who rallied and lobbied pan-India in favour of Hindi. Hence, this day also marks the birthday of the Indian writer Simha who worked tirelessly to make Hindi one of the official languages.
