Two girl students test positive for swine flu in New Delhi

Two new confirmed cases of swine flu were reported from a city school,taking the total number of students affected to 14.

Two new confirmed cases of swine flu were reported from a city school,taking the total number of students affected by the disease to 14 in the national capital.

Officials in the Delhi Health Department said two girl students from St Thomas School in Mandir Marg tested positive and they have been admitted to the LNJP hospital.

“As of today,the total number of students affected by the disease is 14,” they said.

The Health Department has already issued advisories to private schools informing them about precautions needed to be taken to prevent spread of the disease among other students.

The officials said teams from Health Department have also visited the affected schools and oversaw their preparations to meet with the situation.

Last week,St Thomas School had asked a section of VII class to go on precautionary leave after one of the class students tested positive for Swine Flu.

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya had asked some students and teachers to go on leave following reports of a student being affected by the disease.

The Springdales School in Pusa Road had also asked students of standards VI and IX to remain at home till July 22.
