Have you been thinking about switching to millet from wheat? If yes, here’s what to expect in the first 30 days.

According to the health awareness portal SHARAN India, founded by homeopath Dr Nandita Shah, one can expect changes like less bloating, feeling full faster, reduced cravings, weight loss, improved mental clarity, regular bowels, clearer skin, and feeling lighter and more energised.

Are these true?

Swapping wheat with millet can be a great choice, stressed Jinal Patel, dietitian at Zynova Shalby Hospital Mumbai. “Wheat has gluten, which makes it more harmful to your body. Gluten can lead to bloating, increased weight gain, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, and migraine,” said Patel.

When eaten regularly, millet can improve digestion while helping manage your weight. “It can also keep you full longer and provide long-lasting energy. If you are someone who is sensitive towards gluten or has celiac disease, then you should strictly avoid things that contain gluten, including wheat,” said Patel.

You can make various dishes with millet without compromising on your taste buds. “However, ensure that you consult a doctor before making any significant changes in your diet for the betterment of your health,” said Patel.
