Beat the heat with this refreshing ‘cucumber chaas’; recipe inside

Come the scorching heat of summer, and one of the most common problems people find difficult to deal with is dehydration. That it is of utmost importance to consume adequate amounts of fluids throughout the day can never be stressed enough. But, hydration alone isn’t enough to help you beat the heat. In order to survive through the hot, humid days ahead, it is also important to cool down the body.

Interestingly, a glass of lip-smacking chaas or buttermilk can help in cooling down the body. Additionally, it is also beneficial for gut health.

While many youngsters steer clear of vegetables, consuming cucumbers is essential in summer. Besides having an undeniable cooling effect, they are known for their ability to detoxify and cleanse the body alongside several other benefits.

As such, MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria shared a way to combine the benefits of both buttermilk and cucumber to help you keep your body hydrated and cool this summer.

“Cucumber Chaas: This summer, get refreshed and recharged with this delicious cucumber chaas! Do try it out,” she captioned her post on Instagram.

Here is the recipe for making this refreshing cucumber chaas at home:

Ingredients

* 1 cucumber
* 2 green chillis
* 500 ml buttermilk
* 1/2 tsp cumin powder
* 1/2 tsp black salt
* 1/2 tsp salt
* Mint leaves
* Ice

Method

* Peel the cucumber and chop it into small pieces.
* Add them in a blender.
* Add 2 green chillis in the blender.
* Make a puree of the mixture.
* Now take an earthen pot and add 500 ml buttermilk in it.
* Add 1 cup of the cucumber puree.
* Then add 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp black salt, 1/2 tsp salt and a few mint leaves.
* Churn everything well.
* Pour it in a glass.
* Add a few cucumber slices on a skewer and place it in the glass. Enjoy!
