With a passion for exploration, Zainab has honed her artistic skills in Dubai, Mumbai, and London. Alongside her flourishing art career, she had a brush with acting, appearing in M.F. Hussain’s acclaimed film Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities, also starring Tabu and Kunal Kapoor.
Akhil Akkineni, an American-born actor primarily working in Telugu cinema, is known for his roles in films like Sisindri, Aatadukundam Raa, Mr. Majnu, and Agent. Akhil was born to Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni, his second wife. This marks his second engagement; he was previously engaged to Shriya Bhupal, granddaughter of business magnate G.V. Krishna Reddy, in 2016. The wedding was called off for undisclosed reasons.
Zainab and Akhil have a 9-year age gap, with the former being 39 and the latter 30.
This engagement comes just days before the wedding of Naga Chaitanya, Akhil’s older half-brother, to Sobhita Dhulipala. The Akkineni household is abuzz with celebrations, marking a period of joy and togetherness for the family.
With Chaitanya’s wedding on December 4 just a week away, Nagarjuna shared an update with Zoom: “December 4 is around the corner. We are hosting a wedding at the Annapurna Studios, the family studio that my father built. We planned it as an intimate ceremony, but even by limiting the guest list, we expect quite a large attendance. We have a large family, so does Sobhita.”
Addressing Akhil Akkineni’s recent engagement news, the actor expressed his joy. “I am so happy for Akhil. His fiancee Zainab is a lovely girl and I am so happy they have decided to spend their lives together.” He added, “But, their wedding will happen in 2025.”
