Miss Universe 2025 Winner: Mexico’s Fátima Bosch defeated over 100 contestants to bag the 74th Miss Universe title, while Thailand’s Praveenar Singh bagged the title for first Runner Up. Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, the 73rd Miss Universe, crowned the winner at the pageant finale. Bosch brings glory to Mexico after 5 years, followed by Andrea Meza’s victory in 2020.

Fátima Bosch Fernández, from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, has a deep compassion and empathy for animals. She was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hyperactivity, but learned to transform these obstacles into her strengths. Bosch pursued a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and later furthered her studies at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy. Passionate about sustainable fashion, she now creates designs that give new life to discarded materials, blending artistry with purpose.

Ahead of the finale, Miss Universe director Nawat Itsaragrisil was caught on video yelling at Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch, after which the organisation swiftly took action and restricted Nawat’s participation in the pageant.

The Final Question

During the Judges’ Questions round, Bosch was asked what are the challenges of being a woman in 2025, and how she would use her Miss Universe platform to  create a safe space for women around the world. “We are here to speak up and make a change. We are women and brave ones that stand up, the ones that will make history,” she answered confidently.

And for the final question, when asked how she would use her title to empower young girls, she replied: “As Miss Universe, I will say to them, believe in the power of your authenticity, believe in yourself, your dreams matter and your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth, because you are worth everything.”

India misses out

Manika Vishwakarma, India’s representative at the 74th Miss Universe, got eliminated at the Top 12 round, following the swimsuit presentation. She was competing alongside over 100 representatives from different countries, using her platform to promote inclusive education, mental wellness, and the power of artistic expression.

Steve Byrne, the internationally acclaimed performer, hosted the event, while Thai singer and songwriter Jeff Satur lit up the night with performances at the Opening Song and Top 5 round segments. A special Thai traditional performance offered a graceful tribute to the host nation. With movement inspired by centuries of artistry, the performance will weave culture, rhythm, and elegance into a moment that honours Thailand’s timeless spirit.
