Day 7 of the India Couture Week 2023 organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) saw Dolly J and Shantnu & Nikhil showcase their opulent collections. While Disha Patani looking like a 'Moon Goddess' sashayed the runway in a mesmerising ensemble for Dolly J, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan made heads turn as they walked the ramp for designer duo Shantnu & Nikhil. Dolly J's collection titled Selene truly captured the beauty of the moon. "The collection is inspired by the mesmerising presence of the enigmatic Moon, which stands as a timeless symbol of mystery, beauty, and wonder. It features soft, flowing silhouettes that accentuate the wearer, evoking the Moon's gentle radiance," FDCI described the collection in a post. "Pearly white sequins, metallic tissues, Ivory tulle, and iridescent silver sequins mirror its ethereal glow, while burnt copper, washed gunmetal, and deep red hues embody the mystique of this celestial body." While the bralette has a bustier-like fitting and a plunging neckline, the skirt had a mermaid cut with a side split. Her attire accentuated her svelte figure. With her tresses styled in side-parted waves, she opted for glam makeup, which included glittering eye shadow, winged eyeliner, heavy mascara, contoured cheeks, and glossy lipstick. Meanwhile, Shantnu & Nikhil presented their collection 'Etheria', in collaboration with Pearl Academy. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal beauty of travel and the allure of a bygone era, the designers' travels across Italy, especially Catania in Sicily greatly influenced the collection. Bridal silhouettes feature ornate veils, bejeweled capes, and gloves, reminiscent of the Gatsby Era. Maison Shantnu & Nikhil's signature cocktail gowns are revisited with splendor. The menswear showcases regal three-piece layering, ornamented tuxedos with crystals and glass beads, exuding opulence in Indian Couture," FDCI wrote in a post. Walking the ramp for the duo designers, Sara looked resplendent in a cream-hued lehenga with patterned ivory embellishments throughout, paired with a shimmery bustier choli and a sheer cape dupatta that doubled as a sweeping train. Keeping her accessories to a minimum, she opted for diamond drop earrings. With her subtle makeup and hair cascading beautifully in waves, she rounded off the look.
