Alia shares what her personal style is all about. (Source: Alia Bhatt/Instagram)Those who follow Alia Bhatt are well aware that the actor effortlessly blends comfort with glamour in her fashion choices. Whether she’s donning relaxed and chic saris, as seen in her latest film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, or showcasing her individual style preferences, Alia consistently ensures that discomfort never overshadows her shine.
Opening up about the same, she recently told InStyle that her personal style is “extremely moody and comfortable”. “I know this is such a cliche answer,” she added.
“There have been moments, and this literally happened to me at my own wedding, where I had this beautiful dress and it was tight and fitted. It was for a post-wedding party, an Indian wedding. It looked amazing to me, but it was so uncomfortable. I literally waited two minutes, I took a picture, and I took it right off. I got into another dress that was pretty, as well. It was beautiful, but it was more comfortable,” Alia said, adding that she cannot be uncomfortable for too long.
However, Met Gala 2023, where Alia marked her debut this year, was “quite an interesting experience” for the actor she was uncomfortable for four hours. “I sat through dinner with it, I had a massive can-can underneath my dress,” she said.
The 30-year-old further revealed an interaction with fashion designer Prabal Gurung who designed her dress for the Karl Lagerfield-themed fashion extravaganza. “It was something that I said, ‘This happens once in a lifetime.’ Prabal, who I wore at the Met, was like, ‘You’re not supposed to be comfortable at the Met. It’s all about the way you look.'”

To recall, Alia wore a pearl-studded strappy corseted couture ball gown that featured a voluminous skirt bottom that flowed into a long train.
Sharing details about her look, Alia had revealed that she wanted to wear something that “felt authentic” (referring to pearls), and was “proudly made in India”.
“The embroidery, made with 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met,” she continued, adding that a girl can never have too many pearls… “and the right accessories to complement the look which, in our case, translated to the bow of pearls on my hair.”
