A total of 8,34,537 candidates appeared for UGC NET December 2022. The test was conducted in 663 centres across 186 cities in five phases panning over 16 days in 32 shifts.

Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship depends on the aggregate performance of the candidate in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC-NET. The candidates qualifying only for Assistant Professorship are not to be considered for the awarding of JRF. Candidates who qualify for the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professors of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be.

No, once the final results are announced, candidates cannot get their final results re-evaluated. Candidates were allowed to raise objections from March 23 to 25.

NTA released the provisional answer key for the first three phases on October 18 while the provisional answer key for phase 3 was released on October 21. Candidates were given a window to challenge any answers given in the provisional answer key.

Every year, around 8-10 lakh applicants apply for UGC NET. A total of 8,34,537 aspirants appeared in the UGC NET 2023  from February 21 to March 16, 2023.

No, there shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

As per the resevation policy of Government of India:

15 per cent seats are reserved for SC candidates
7.5 per cent seats are reserved for ST candidates
27 per cent of seats are reserved for OBC NCL candidates as per the Central list
10 per cent seats are reserved for General EWS candidates
5 per cent of seats in the aforementioned categories are reserved for PwD candidates with 40 per cent or more disability

UGC NET December 2022 exams were held in five phases:-

Phase 1- From February 21 to 24
Phase 2- From February 28 to March 1
Phase 3- From March 3 to 6
Phase 4- From March 11 to 12
Phase 5- From March 13 to 16

Each question carries two marks and for each correct response, a candidate will score two marks. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses. If a question is found to be "incorrect/ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit.

Once NTA will declare the UGC NET result, the candidates can download their documents like score cards, etc using Umang and Digi Locker. You can download the app through Play Store.

The upper age limit for JRF is 30 years while there is no upper age limit to apply for assistant professor. In JRF, there five year upper age limit relaxation for candidates belonging to the following categories— OBC NCL, SC, ST, PwD and third gender

NET/ SET/ SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions. In this regard, exemption from NET/SET/SLET will be governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India from time to time.

The medium of question paper was in English and Hindi only

The validity of the JRF certificate is three years while for the lectureship certificate: There is no such validation limit for the post of Assistant Professor.
