CTET FAQ 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024. With the announcement, the Board also released the examination date, that is, December 1.

However, there are a few questions that aspirants are puzzled about such as the validity of the CTET certificate and, the number of attempts a candidate can give, among others. Some of these questions have been answered here:

What are the eligibility and application fees for the CTET exam?

In order to be eligible for the CTET 2024 December session, a candidate must be an Indian citizen, and at least 18-year-old, and have a minimum of 50 per cent marks in senior secondary or graduation, depending on the subject they are applying for.

Applicants under the General and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers to apply for CTET December 2024. The registration fee for SC, ST, and differently-abled persons is Rs 500 for the single paper test and Rs 600 for both papers.

How many attempts are there for CTET?

There is no limit to the number of attempts a candidate can make to get a CTET certificate. In case, the aspirant wants to improve their marks in the CTET exam, they can re-appear according to there own will, till the time they are eligible.

Is there a negative marking in CTET?

There is no negative marking for incorrect questions, and there is no penalty for leaving any question unattempted.

When will CBSE release CTET admit cards?

The CTET admit cards will be released on the official website two or three days before the examination date. Last year, the CBSE released the admit cards on August 18.

Is CTET valid for lifetime?

Yes, the marks and certificate a person get in CTET is valid for lifetime. “The validity period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for life time for all categories,” CBSE CTET information brochure stated.

What is the use of CTET exam?

Cracking CTET exam make a candidate eligible to apply for central government teaching jobs. Such candidates can apply at schools like KVS, NVS, Army among others.

Is CTET held twice a year?

Conducted by CBSE, the exam is held twice in a year to determine the eligibility of CTET aspirants for appointment as teachers in central government schools for classes till 8.

What is the difference between CTET and TET?

CTET is a central level examination while TET is used a state level. CTET certificate will allow candidates to apply in any central government schools while TET is limited to the particular state government schools.

What to do after cracking CTET ?

Once the examination is cleared, a candidate can apply to as many central government run schools across the country.
