The event was attended by industry leaders, professionals, and enthusiasts who got an opportunity to explore the transformative power of information and communication technologies. Debasis Sarkar, the Chief General Manager, Calcutta Telephones, BSNL and Rupa Paulchoudhury, the Principal General Manager (Finance), Calcutta Telephones, BSNL along with Soumyajit Mahapatra, Chairman, Public Relations Society of India, Kolkata Chapter were among those present.
The main theme of the World Telecom Day this year was empowering the least developed countries through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), with the main focus on India. The session also showcased the potential of ICT as a catalyst for positive change in developing nations.
The session stressed upon the initiation of initiatives like switching to lithium ion batteries and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in energy management.
